Quantities I used:
DHAL
200g Red Lentils
1 tsp tumeric
TARKA
1 cup of Onion and Tomato Masala (see the Curry Hack post) https://britishbornchinesefood.co.uk/curry-hack/
2 TBSP of butter
2 tsp cumin
4 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt
Fry the cumin in the butter until the seeds pop and you can smell the fragrance, add 1 cup of the Masala, cook for a minutes, add the coriander and chilli powder. Cook until the lentils are ready, then add to the lentils.
You can add more fresh garlic or 1/4 tsp of garlic powder if you wish to have more garlic flavour.
