A well stocked freezer provides me with alot of comfort. It also makes my life easier to have some home-made ready meals to hand as I am extremely fussy vegetarian husband and two toddlers to feed 3 times a day.
Things you could find in my freezer:
- Cut and marinated chicken/pork
- Ginger and spring onion oil
- Muffins savoury and sweet (cheese, banana, chocolate muffins)
- Spag bol
- Chilli con carne
- Tarka dhal
- Brown lentil stews
- Pancakes
- Rice pudding
- Pulled pork
- Refried beans
- Dan Gwok – chinese pork omelettes
- Sweet and sour chic, fry and freeze (reheat in oven) and make sauce
- ABC soup – use for a soup base for noodles
- Cooked sausages
- Mui choi jeng joo yook
- Mac and cheese
I have found the Lakeland stackable containers to be the best, they are microwavable, freezer and dishwasher proof and they utilise every available space in the freezer. When freezing mac and cheese I have found that it is best to under cook the macaroni slightly and place the sauce to the side. In the past when I have mixed it all in I have found the macaroni soaks up all the sauce.
